RIFA design represents the collective ideas and creations of Mike O'Brien, a self taught craft artist and designer who worked primarily as an adventure sports photographer over 20 years.
It was during a brief stay in Tarifa, Southern Spain whilst en-route to the Canary Islands for a windsurf safari that the shorts, designed and manufactured from the back of a minibus became popular enough to warrant a label.

RIFA shorts and sail repairs provided the impetus for Mike to continue designing and making a whole array of items suited for his photographic work. He began making things for his friends and an endless amount of referred clients. This has evolved to a compact design and manufacturing business that specializes in hand made bespoke products for a spectrum of uses.

Our tipis and yurts can be hired for a weekend, or weeks. We now aim to do more outdoor events and festivals with an emphasis on outdoor living. If you are thinking of running an event or can offer a location for one of our camps - or even our eco home and workshop we would be pleased to discuss ideas.
